ALT.FICTION WEEKEND FESTIVAL 2012

Alt.Fiction in 2012 sees the return of the panels and workshops that have been such a popular feature in previous years. 2012 does see some changes, the festival moves to April 14th & 15th and will be in Leicester at the Phoenix Arts Centre.

There will be two main streams covering genre fiction and genre in other media such as screen writing, panels and workshops offering practical support for emerging writers as well as plenty of entertainment for fans.

Included in the confirmed programme are best selling author Ken MacLeod, an interactive lecture on the business of writing by Mark Chadbourn, a workshop with Clarke Awards Tom Hunter on self promotion and Guy Adams leading a workshop on dealing with an audience. There will be a live recording of Keith Large’s Fringe Festival favourite play The Carrot Nappers and an hour of open mic flash fiction all attendees can sign up for on a first come first served basis. Leicester Cycle City are sponsoring Marooned with a Movie and offering a literary tour of the City by bike.

It’s already an exciting line up!
